This image is only partially compatible with Laravel Sail and serves only to provide PHP 7.0 support for those who need it for their older projects.

Provides a working Chromium installation for PDF generation compatible with spatie/browsershow / puppeteer using the Playwright⁠ library.

⁠v2.0 Ubuntu 24.04

Uses Ubuntu 24.04 based, support both amd64 and arm64 (Apple Silicon).

• No repositories exist for older PHP versions.

• Php 7.0, some extensions and OS libraries are compiled from source to be able to run on Ubuntu 24.04

• Based on Laravel Sail 8.0 image (v1.48)⁠

• chromium installed via playwright

⁠v1.0 Ubuntu 20.04

Uses the last Ubuntu 20.04–based Sail release (v1.38.0), adapted to PHP 7.0, amd64 and arm64 (Apple Silicon).

Important lifecycle notice

• As of 2025‑07‑01, Ubuntu 20.04 and the ppa:ondrej/php hosting for older PHP versions are archived/EOL. Building from scratch can be fragile or fail depending on mirror availability. Prefer pulling the prebuilt images from Docker Hub.
