⁠Bleeding-edge OpenJDK Development Builds

These images wrap OpenJDK builds available at https://builds.shipilev.net/⁠. The images are based on debian:bookworm-slim base image, and have minimal environment set.

⁠Available Build Tags

Major tags:

• latest: current JDK mainline
• 8, 11, 17, 21, 25: current JDK LTS development branch
• leyden-premain: Project Leyden, downstream project repo, premain branch
• valhalla: Project Valhalla, downstream project repo, lworld branch
• loom: Project Loom, downstream project repo (*)
• lilliput: Project Lilliput, downstream project repo (*)
• shenandoah: Project Shenandoah, downstream project repo (*)

(*): The bulk of the project code is already in mainline/LTS releases. The downstream repositories usually stabilize heavily-experimental stuff. Only use these to track on-going development that is not in mainline/LTS builds somehow.

Additionally, images have fastdebug and slowdebug variants, which are useful for debugging the JVM. Combine the major tag with -fastdebug or -slowdebug to get them. For example, shipilev/openjdk:25-fastdebug gets the JDK 25u fastdebug build.

⁠WARNING

These artifacts are not well-tested, not virus-checked, may contain horrible bugs that could lead to data corruption, engulfing machines in flames, sharing your financial data, selling your pets on eBay, etc. etc. etc. everything that applies for binaries^W code^W anything downloaded from the Internet. Be cautious. If in doubt, build from the source yourself, and/or run on staging environment that is not painful to restore.
