mavrykdynamics/mavryk repository overview

Mavryk is a distributed consensus platform with meta-consensus capability. Mavryk not only comes to consensus about the state of its ledger, like Bitcoin or Ethereum. It also attempts to come to consensus about how the protocol and the nodes should adapt and upgrade.

Mavkit is an implementation of Mavryk software, including a node, a client, a baker, an endorser, an accuser, and other tools, distributed with the Mavryk economic protocols of Mainnet for convenience.

Documentation for Mavryk and for Mavryk protocols is available online at: https://protocol.mavryk.org

The website https://mavryk.org/ contains more information about the project.

Docker Image Tags

latest : the latest stable mainnet release. It runs with real mav. This is the current incarnation of the Mavryk blockchain.

master : the latest images from the master branch of Mavkit. This image works with all networks and it's the cutting edge development image. Do NOT use this image in production.

Types of Images

All images mentioned above use the entry point that can be found at https://gitlab.com/mavryk-network/mavryk-protocol/tree/master/scripts/docker . Each image contains the binaries to run a complete mavryk node, including baker and accuser. On the first invocation, the node initializes a new identity and it synchronizes with mavryk foundation nodes. Once the node is bootstrapped (it might take a while), and the user has added it's own keys using the mavkit-client command, the validator can start validating ( make sure you understand the validating process ). These images are stripped of debug symbols.

In addition to the tags mentioned above, we provide two variants for each image.

  • mavryk-debug: images: like the normal images but binaries are not stripped and the image contain a few simple debug tools.
  • mavryk-bare: images: these images contain only the stripped tezos binaries and no entrypoint script.
