⁠About VIES

VIES (the VAT Information Exchange System) is a search engine (not a database) owned by the EU Commission. The information comes from national VAT databases when searched using the VIES tool.

The search result displayed by the VIES tool is available in two versions: EU VAT information found (valid) or not found (invalid).
