apache/incubator-cloudberry repository overview

Apache Cloudberry (incubating)

Apache Cloudberry (incubating) is an advanced, open-source, massively parallel processing (MPP) data warehouse developed from PostgreSQL and Greenplum. It is designed for high-performance analytics on large-scale data sets, offering powerful analytical capabilities and enhanced security features.

Available Containers

We have built multiple containers for testing and building purposes, specifically targeting Rocky Linux 8 and 9.

Dated Versions: Each latest container has a corresponding dated version, such as cbdb-test-rocky8-YYYYMMDD-git-short-sha or cbdb-build-rocky9-YYYYMMDD-git-short-sha. These dated versions are functionally identical to their latest counterparts but include tags with the build date and commit SHA for tracking purposes.

Here’s an overview of what’s available:

Test Containers

The test containers are designed with only minimal OS components, plus a few additional handy packages. When you install the Cloudberry Database RPM, it will automatically pull in all necessary runtime dependencies.

  • cbdb-test-rocky8-latest
  • cbdb-test-rocky9-latest
Build Containers

The build containers are suited for developers who want to build Cloudberry Database from source quickly. They come pre-installed with all the necessary build-time dependencies, saving time and effort in setting up a development environment.

  • cbdb-build-rocky8-latest
  • cbdb-build-rocky9-latest
Dockerfile Locations

The Dockerfiles for these containers are available on GitHub.

Disclaimer

Apache Cloudberry (incubating) is an effort undergoing incubation at the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator PMC.

Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects.

While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
